Android feltie

Lols much but I think that the Android robot is really cute. XD

That's about the size of the feltie.

It can stand on its own.
[Lols much. The irony. XD]

Beading

Recently, my mum took me to her friend's place for a craft gathering. We were making jewelry, and it is the first time in years that I last made jewelry with beads.

This is the necklace I made:

The pendant was made of leatherette

The pattern of beads I used.

Machine-made!

Practicing my sewing machine skills making Christmas gifts:

 Little drawstring pouch I made

Stitches

Inside lining

When it's drawn up.

Tip: for the bird, I appliquéd 4 strips of fabric before cutting the whole thing into the shape of a bird.

A little blurry, but it is very difficult to perfect the shape of a violin. Took me a few tries to get the shape right. (Yep, the strings are hand-stitched on)
[same technique for the violin]

Felting

Just got back from vacation in New Zealand, and bought some wool at a surprisingly low price:

It's really more than it looks. ^^''

As an experiment, I made some felted balls:

They're really easy to make, until there comes this part that doesn't felt up properly....

Today, I made a felted bowl. (these are all first time tries! ^^) The hole I cut turned out to be a little too big, but the effect is still quite nice:

A little lumpy, but yeah...
I really like the blend at the bottom though:

btw, if you're interested, I found the tutorial from http://rosiepink.typepad.co.uk/rosiepink/felting-tutorial-how-to-make-a-wet-felted-pod-vessel-using-a-resist.html .
It's very clear and detailed!

Jack the Pumpkin King

Recently, I watched the animation the Nightmare before Christmas, and the halloween song got stuck in my head for a long time. (this is halloween, this is halloween....Agh)

So I just made Jack for fun. XD This is one of my best pieces yet. (I think)

Key chains

This is a prototype that I made:

It's supposed to be a snake coiled up, you know, those tree snakes that drape themselves on branches?? (go search if you don't know.)

Lols. I hope you can tell. XD

My friend made me the cross stitch above, it means love (sarang) in Korean. Recently, my brother has started learning Korean, and he has figured out our Korean names (of course they don't mean anything, it's just phonics so far). The orange cross-stitch is my name, Joyce, and is pronounced as.........well....joh-is. Lols much. (I hope I made it correctly. XD)

Hair accessories

These are some very simple hair clips that I made. It only took about 15-mins to make one.

You can easily find tutorials for the flower hair clips online. The bows are easy too!

Clasp purse

Some time ago, after going to an art flea market with my mom, I saw this stall selling clasp purses of different shapes and sizes...dont ask me why) but I found them really cute. ^^''' so I decided to try my hand at it.... at the same time, I do need a bag that is small enough to carry just my handphone and wallet cause I don't usually bring lots of stuff out.

Here's the completed purse! :D The bad itself is pretty easy to make, but it is rather hard to attach the clasp and straps. I actually broke a needle trying to sew on the straps. >< I would have gotten the king of clasp that allows you need to sew on it, but this one's cheaper. XD

I used felt for the lining so that I wouldn't have to waste batting on the bag.. (the batting is pretty expensive too!)

Skull-print Barrette

When I went fabric hunting with my mom the other day, we saw this really cute skull-print quilting fabric, and we had to buy it.

I managed to get some left over scraps and I made this barrette with it:

It's really easy to make, just get some batting and sew the fabric around it and attach it to the clip and....voila!

(Yep, I can find all sorts of crazy stuff to do with left over scraps of fabric ;) )

More Fan art...

Okay. I'm the sort of person who doesn't idolize stuff so, naturally, I don't usually fangirl over stuff..
Except for Studio Ghibli animations. XD hahas. I've been watching them since I was really young, and i still love them now. ^^

I just recently watched Howl's Moving Castle, and it is AWESOME. :D

Here I made Calcifer:

And I made this little charm for fun with left over scraps of felt:

Hayao Miyazaki Films Fan Art

I'm a big fan of Mr. Hayao Miyazaki's films. :) I've watched Laputa Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Nausicaa of the Valley f the Wind, Arietty, Princess Mononoke and much more.. ^^ They're really really nice to watch.

So here, I found some scraps of canvas and an empty spool and so I decided to make a montage of my favorite animations.

This is the draft:

(Heh. yeah. I was testing my pen to see if it works. ^^''')

And then, I spent a long time copying it out on canvas.

Yeah.. it's really small so....not much details.
(Not that I can draw very well. XD)
I have used characters from Spirited away, Laputa, The Cat Returns, Totoro and Howl's Moving castle.

From Spirited away, we have Chihiro, Haku (both in human form and in his dragon form)...

No Face, also from spirited away... (Sorry if the pic isn't clear! ><)

...The robot from Laputa, and the small white totoro from My Neighbor Totoro and Calcifer from Howl's Moving Castle. Further down is Muta from The Cat Returns.. but he's half covered by the canvas... :( sad. (Need to work on measurement!)

Skull necklace

Recently, we bought skull-printed fabric, which is really cool. I took the leftovers and cut out one of the skulls and made this necklace. :)

Cool eh? :) Hahas. Hope y'all like it too...

"Spreading wings, raising standards"

"Spreading wings, raising standards" is my CCA's motto. ^^
I love my CCA, so I made this bracelet/necklace

It has a bird as the middle pendant and little wings for the rest of the bracelet. It is long enough to double around my wrist and it is also enough to go around my neck as a necklace.

Paper clay Ukelele

I know it's kinda childish, but I still like making things out of paper clay. XD
Here, I made this ukelele out of paper clay.

I was scared to color it as the details may be ruined and the paint that I have has not been used in ages. :p

Side view.
(I play the ukelele too! :D Hahas.)

Peacock mask

Made this mask with the help of the book, Super-cute felt by Laura Howard. I didn't have turquoise felt, so I used green felt...

Necklace and bracelet

The pendant of this necklace was based on Native American jewelry. I miss those times when I was able to spend most of my time doing crafts all day...

I was bored so I used the remaining beads to do this bracelet:

I can barely fit it on now.  ><

Dragonfly Hair Clip

Made this dragonfly clip out of felt and quilting fabric. The wings are made the way kansashi flowers are made.

The eyes are rather.....messy, though. :/

Sea glass pendant

This pendant is made out of a piece of sea glass that I picked up from a beach in New Zealand. It's my first time using the weaving method used to make the net holding the sea glass, so, it's kinda irregular...

Drawing :)

I rarely draw, but I was bored so I drew this jester:

Not really clear cause of the poor camera (I'm using the camera from the com cause I'm too lazy. Xp)

Here's the draft. but somehow, i think the draft looks better. Xp

Okay, this one really isn't clear, but I'll be post in clearer images on Instagram. You can follow me at: Furryfurball

Created by myself! :D

Here's a dragon that I made, inspired by those on the internet. ^^ Made the pattern myself, and thankfully it worked. :D
The eye was made by a triple french knot and I used felt (as usual) to make it.

This felt shark was made one year ago. (I hope it does look like one. ^^''')

This little salamander (?) was inspired by the lizard from the craft book. I had to improvise a little for the gills.

A (rather failed) cat with leopard print. The leopard print cloth that I used frays a lot, so it was pretty irritating to have the cloth fray while sewing it up. (much prefer to use felt. XD)

Some felties that I made according to some craft books....

These felties were from the same book. I've forgotten the name of the book though. :|
(Left to right: Snake, panda bug, lizard)

The ghost was also from the same craft book as the felties above. The little monster, which is about the size of a fingernail, was from another book, although i made some changes to the shape so that it is easier to sew.
(Left to right: ghost, little monster)

Cute right?? Looks like and Angry Bird though. XD This was also from a craft book of birds. (my memory is terrible. >.<)

Budgie!!!! I love budgies!!! They're so cute! This is also from the same book as the bird above. :D I also made it a partner with black and white felt. (Whoo! Blue nail polish, yo. XD)

Made these two a year back. :)
